State Title Games – 4M – Florida
The state of Florida changed their format this year and went 1A-8A to Metro and Rural areas. What was 8a is now 4M (Metro) Teams in BOLD are the ones I am picking. I could see Apopka end up playing Columbus in the finals. There will be prospects that pop up from these playoffs games who end up receiving offers. We will monitor these games and keep you updated on who stood out.
North Side
1-Seminole
8-Mandarin
Prospects
Darren Lawrence: WR-6’2-190 (FSU Commit)
Ethan Pritchard: S-6’1-180 (FSU Offer)
Max Buchanan: OT-6’4-275 (FSU Offer)
Jaime Ffrench: WR-6’2-175 (FSU Offer)
Comments: Lawrence is already committed to FSU. He gives you a receiver with some size on the outside. He lacks great top end speed and burst off the line of scrimmage. He is more of a possession receiver. Pritchard will be one of the top safety prospects in Florida and will end up getting recruited by everyone. Buchanan already holds an offer from FSU. Ffrench will be one of the top receivers in the 2025 class. FSU has already offered and is recruiting him hard. Former Seminole commit Rod Kearney also plays for Mandarin.
4-Lake Mary
5-Hagerty
Prospects
Braeden Marshall: CB-5’10-175
Josh Raymond: OT-6’4-290
Michael McClenton: DE-6’1-220-(2026)
Comments: Marshall is a prospect that will go to UCF, show out well and get recruited out of the portal. He can be a lock down corner at times. He would make a very good slot corner for many teams. Raymond and McClenton are both underclassmen who will get looks. If McClenton continues to grow, keep an eye on him. He is only a freshman and is making an impact at the high school level.
2-Apopka
7-Boone
Prospects
Tai Ray-OT-6’7-310 (Committed to Pittsburgh)
Comments: Ray is a kid that performed well at the FSU summer camp. He got offered. It would not surprise me to see FSU swim back around on Ray. He is a massive human being. He can play guard or tackle. Harris is a prospect that intrigues me. FSU does not have a tight end on the roster right now who can make an impact. They have some projects but would they take a look at Harrison if he shows out well in the playoffs? He is a sleeper prospect to keep an eye on. Mizell is committed to UF and the networks have him ranked as one of the top receivers in the country. He is good but not that good.
3-Winter Park
6-Lake Brantley
Prospects
Amaris Shaw-Ath-6’0-170
Comments: Self-reported an FSU offer early on. He is a good athlete who can play on either side of the football. When you perform well in the playoffs more teams take a look at you. It will be interesting to see who shows this kid interest in the next month.
1-East Lake
8-Olympia
Prospects
Kamran James-DE-6’6-255 (UF Commit)
Comments: East Lake produced guys like George Campbell. They also had some other top rated players over the years. This is a good team but one that lacks great players like years past. Kamran James is an under the radar prospect who committed to Florida. He has all the physical tools to be a good player for the Gators. Keep an eye on him because if James goes off in the playoffs look for other teams to try and land him.
4-Plant
5-Sumner
Prospects
Kylen Webb: S-6’1-190 (Clemson Commit)
Comments: Plant bounced back after falling off the radar the last couple of seasons. For a program that once had players like James Wilder it is nice to see them back in the playoffs. Sumner has Kylen Webb. He was offered by FSU but they never seemed to get traction with him. Sumner is a new program. Sumner committed to Clemson.
2-West Orange
7-Steinbrenner
Prospects
Jordan Castell-CB-6’3-180 (Florida Commit)
Trever Jackson-QB-6’2-190
Comments: Keep an eye on Jackson. He could end up one of the top quarterbacks in Florida. He already holds some offers. He is a kid that we could see being recruited by FSU.
3-Ocoee
6-Durant
Prospects
Assad Waseem-WR-6’0-170 (2023)
Calvin Smith-DE-6’4-230 (2023)
Zachary Tobe: CB-6’2-170 (2023)
Greg Smith: DT-6’2-280 (2023)
Comments:
Waseem has been on the radar for the past three seasons. He is one of the better slot receivers in Central Florida. He has the ability to stretch the field. He also runs good routes and has solid hands. Illinois has two of the top pass rushers in the Big Ten one of them is from Central Florida. They dipped back into the sunshine state with the addition of Calvin Smith. He should make an impact in these playoffs. Tobe from Ocoee and Smith from Durant should also get looks.
South Side
1-Palm Beach Central
8-Jupiter
Prospects
Ahmad Haston: QB-6’1-180 (Committed to UMASS)
Javarioan Wimberly: WR-6’1-180 (2023)
Justin Bostic: DB-5’10-180 (2023)
Luby Maurice: WR-6’2-190
Comments: Haston is a great kid. Met him at media day and came away very impressed with him. He has a nice arm and can make most of the throws asked to him. I would not be surprised to see him have a good playoffs and draw more attention from college recruiters.
4-Santaluces
5-Douglas
Prospects
Jamar Browder-WR-6’5-210
Comments: Browder has the physical tools. He is one of the bigger receivers in his class. He already self-reports offers from D1 programs. He is only a sophomore so there is plenty of time for college coaches to scout and recruit him.
2-Monarch
7-Boca Raton
Prospects
Jabari Brady-Monarch-6’3-190 (2026)
Comments: Brady already holds P5 offers. He will be one of the most sought after players in Broward County. He comes from a program that has seen players like Jerry Jeudy and Calvin Ridley. Look for Brady to blow up this spring.
3-Palm Beach Gardens
6-Wellington
Prospects
Michael Wright III-FS-5’11-175 (2024)
Brand Campbell-QB-6’0-185
Comments: Palm Beach Gardens is an under the radar program. They are a team that could do some damage in the playoffs.
1-Columbus
8-Miami Sr.
Prospects
TJ Campers-OLB-6’3-230 (2024) (P5 Offers)
Dylan Stephenson-DE-6’4-220 (2024) (Offered)
Joshua Moore-WR-6’4-180 (Has P5 offers)
Comments: TJ Capers will be one of the top linebackers in Florida for the class of 2024. FSU has offered and will recruit him next spring. Stephenson also has an offer. He is a big, long, athletic end who transferred from Miami Killian. Miami high has produced players like Andre Johnson and Roscoe Parrish. It is one of the oldest schools in Miami. A few years back they had a shot at winning it all but fell to Delray Atlantic. Dontae Lucas who played at FSU was on their team. King Cherry is the stud of Miami High. He plays on both sides of the football. This is the type of kid who goes to the MAC and ends up in the NFL.
4-Miami Palmetto
5-West Broward
Comments: Moore comes from West Broward. It is not a school that is well known for producing talent. Brown holds offers from AU, UM, Pitt, Vandy and GT. I would not be surprised to see FSU pull the trigger at some point.
2-Western
7-Cypress Bay
Prospects
Lucas Bisazza-K-6’2-175 (Cypress Bay)
Santana Fleming-WR-5’11-175 (P5/G5 Offers)
Comments: One of the top kickers in South Florida.
3-Doral Academy
6-Somerset Academy
Prospects
Kaj’Nitro Baker-(2026) Ath-5’7-155 (Faster Player in Florida)
Comments: Baker is not real big but the kid can fly. He ran a Sub 10.5 (100m) last year as an 8th grader. Look for him to get recruited as an athlete.
