Thaddius Franklin-Chaminade Maddona-6’1-190: Franklin gives you a running back with both power and finesse. He is a big back that can run away from defenders. He will end up a four year starter in high school which does not happen often. He is also a very good receiver out of the backfield. (Reported offers: Committed to Miami)

Amari Daniels-Miami Central-5’11-170: Daniels performance in the state title game showed why he is one of the best prospects in the country. His first carry in the state title game went for over 70 yards and a touchdown. K’wan Powell-Freeport-5’10-190: We had the chance to watch Powell earlier this spring. He is a well put together back that is only going to get better. He has the power to run between the tackles. Brashard Smith-Miami Palmetto-5’11-175: One of our favorite recruits for the class of 2021. He can line up as a receiver or running back and excel at the next level. He is a play maker and once Smith gets his hands on the football something good is likely to happen. (Reported Offers: Opened up his recruitment)

Katravis Geter-Carol City-5’10-190:  Geter will become the feature back at Carol City this year. He should get enough carries to not only break 1,000 yards but could push 2,000. He is a tough, hardnosed runner who can run through or around defenders. Look for him to blow up this fall. (Reported Offers: FIU, Georgia, UK, Kentucky, UF, FSU, Penn State, GT, Maryland)

KeyShawn Spencer-Palm Bay-5’10-175: Special. This kid has the goods. Turn on his film and it is tough to not come away impressed. He can be a very good running back a very good receiver and even excel at defensive back. (Reported offers: Committed to USF)

Ricky Parks-Tampa Gaither -5’11-185:  With his size and speed there will be plenty of people who are looking at him. He has the build and should get bigger and stronger the next two seasons. (Reported offers: Committed to Utah)

Antonio Outler-Palm Beach Lakes-5’10-190: Here is a kid that can run with both power and speed. If he continues to develop, Antonio will end up one of the best players to ever play at PB Gardens. Darius Chester-Miami Edison-5’7-180:  Chester is flat out nasty carrying the football. He is not real big but try bringing this bowling ball down. He is tough to tackle and if you let him get into the open field good luck trying catch him. (Reported Offers: FSU, UK)

Anthony Williams- Lake Brantley-6’0-180: Williams has the speed and quickness to get to the edge. He is a play maker with the football in his hands. We expect him to have a break out season in 2019. Look for his stock to be on the rise. (Reported Offers: Committed to UCF)

Irone Jackson- Manatee–6’0-180 : Irone is one of the best players to come out of Manatee in the past few seasons. He gives you a back with both power and speed. (Reported offers: BC, FSU, UGA, NC State, UNC, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Toledo)

Aaron Jones-Bartram Trail-5’7-160: Bartram Trail has some talent in its backfield. He will get limited touches this year but we expect Jones to make every carry county. Ralph Williams-Miami Palmetto-5’8-200:Williams does not get much hype but he is one of the better players on Palmetto roster. He is a tough kid who will not go down without a fight. He is undervalued as a running back. (Reported Offers: BC, FAU, Southern Miss and UAB)

Brendon Barrow-Clearwater Acad Int.5’8-175:Barrow is a prospect that has flown under the radar this season. He is a kid that can make one cut and go. He makes his moves without very little effort. Max Balthazar-University School-5’10-180: Max is a one cut and go type back. He just needs a crease and Max will exploit it. He has a good first step. You will see him make the first defender miss and get into the opening. (Reported Offers: FIU, UK, Tennessee)

Jayden Jackson-Northview-5’10-200:Jackson reminds us a big back you would see up in the Northeast. He has the size and power to run over a defense. He is a back that the more he carries the ball will pound you. He is very effective on special teams.(Reported Offers: USF, BC, Wake, FIU, USF)

Chase Gillespie-Lawton Chiles-5’9-170: Chase is a back that has flown under the radar. He is not the biggest back but get him in the open field and Chase can do some damage. Myles Montgomery –Fletcher-5’10-195:Myles is a back that if given the opportunity can produce. He is a one cut and go type of back. There is not much wiggle to his game. He has quick feet which allows him to make defenders miss and get into the open. (Reported Offers: Committed to Cincy)

Jalen Herring-Chiles-5’10-165: Herring is a kid that can play on either side of the football and have an impact. He has that quickness to change a game on one play. He has good ball skills on defense and that is where we could see him playing in college. (Reported Offers: WVU, Coastal, USF)

Kelly Loiseau-Miramar-5’11-190: While built like a scat back, Kelly runs more like a power back. He is a between the tackles back that will try and pick up the tough yards. You would like to see some more wiggle out of his game. (Reported Offers: FIU, FAU, Marshall)

Donovan Jones-Champagnat Catholic-5’9-180: Jones is an athlete. That is why he already has multiple D1 offers. When you can play multiple positions at a high level there are plenty of schools willing to give you a chance. The first thing that coaches will notice on film is his speed. Roscoe Burton-Doral Academy-5’10-180: Burton gives you a back with some speed and quickness. He has quick feet and can get into the open before a blink of an eye. He has the ability to break off long touchdown runs.  (Reported Offers: App State, Texas Tech and Southern Miss)

Jamarian Samuel-Trinity Catholic-5’10-190:Samuel will run behind one of the best offensive lines in Florida. He will get the chance to have some nice holes to run through. He is a kid who should produce at a high level in 2020. (Reported Offers: Kent State)

Jacoby Bernadin-South Miami-5’10-170:Jacoby will be counted on this year to tote the rock. He is a good back that does well on plays to the outside. He can be a very good stretch back. Get him the ball in space and he is effective. He needs to show the ability to run between the tackles and pick up the tough yards. (Reported Offers:  FAU, Southern Miss)
        
David Alize-North Miami Beach-5’8-170:) Alize plays in an offense that relies on the run game. He is a kid who can run hard and pick up the extra yardage. (Reported Offers: None)
         
Zuberi Mobley-Miami Northwestern-5’10-170: Mobley gives Miami Northwestern some balance on offense. He gives them a back that should be able to pick up a ton of yards with opposing defenses keying on the passing game. He can also be a threat out of the backfield as a receiver.  (Reported Offers: Committed to FAU)
     
Chris Phillips-Boca Ciega-5’7-160: Phillips gives you a back that can run between the tackles or bounce it outside. He has the ability to get to the outside and outrun a defense. He has some nice quickness to get to the edge. He is also going to be effective as a receiver out of the backfield and on special teams. (Reported Offers: Committed to Bowling Green)
      
Scooby Graham-Baker County-5’10-175: You turn on his film and the one thing you notice is Graham runs hard. He will break tackles and if you try and trip him up, Scooby will run through you. He is not easy to bring down. He has a quick first step and gets into the opening before a defender can get a hand on him. (Reported Offers: None)
    
Hayden Reed-Tampa Plant-6’0-210: Hayden has quick feet. You will see him cut in the hole and then break off a nice run. He has good hands as well. His style of play is that of a defensive player. It would not shock us to see him play linebacker in college.  (Reported Offers: Committed to Army) 
   
Jinovious Washington-Charlotte-5’10-165: Jino can make an impact right away on special teams. He is a good athlete who plays on both sides of the football.He is a tough runner who can pick up the tough yards. His physicality is very good.  (Reported Offers: None)
       
DJ Clark-St Stephens Episcopal School-5’11-180:  Clark shows some quickness on film.  He has the ability to get into the open and make the big play. The level of competition he faces will be used against him.  (Reported Offers: None)
      
Justin Smith-South Dade-5’8-160:Smith is an undersized back. He can run between the tackles or bounce it outside. He lacks great size or top end speed. That is going to hurt his recruitment when it comes down to the D1 schools.  (Reported Offers: None)
 
Maurice Bell-Bartow -5’10-185: Bell was only a freshman last season and got some carries on varsity. He is a player we will keep an eye on. (Reported offers: None)
         
Livingston Benoit-Miami Edison-5’11-190: Edison backfield quickly has become one of the better ones in Dade County. He gives you a back with some power. He does not need much space to get going. Give him a seam and he will break down your defense. (Reported Offers: None)
       
Keith Phillips-Miami Christian-5’11-190: Phillips is a good athlete. He can play multiple positions at the next level. Once he finds a position, Phillips needs to learn it and settle in. He can be a very good player in college. (Reported Offers: Syracuse)
       
Tre’Quan Hilton-Northside Christian-6’0-220: Hilton is a back we will keep an eye on. He is a bigger back that also brings some speed and quickness to the football field. He lacks great top end speed but with his running style he will wear a defense down and break off long runs. He is a good between the tackles runner. (Reported Offers: None)



The state of Florida has produced some great backs over the past 15 years. Many times there are some backs who are not highly rated who come from Florida and have great college careers. One of the under the radar backs this year is none other than K’Wan Powell. It would not not shock us to see him have a great college career and end up on an NFL roster in four years. We will break down the running back position and tell you the strengths of each player.
