Every year there are prospects that fly under the radar. One of the prospects is Jarkeice Davis of Port St Joe. Coming into the state title game, Davis rushed for over 1800 yards and had 33 touchdowns. In the state title game Davis once again performed at an MVP level as he rushed for over 150 yards and two touchdowns. Davis is a prospect that we will focus on today as we look at one of the top under the radar prospects in Florida.

When it comes to running the football very few come at a defense with as much intensity and drive as Davis. He is a downhill runner that will run right at a defensive player. He is not going to do anything fancy other then line up and try and run a defensive player over. Davis showed toughness on multiple occassions this past weekend as he ran over and around the Hamilton County defense. What we liked most about Davis is his willingness to pick up the tough yards.

What we saw that Davis needs to work on: Davis is not asked to catch the football much. To become an every down back, Davis will need to show the ability to catch the football out of the backfield. He is a good enough athlete to cause problems for opposing defenses in the passing game.

Final Thoughts: Davis and Port St Joe had a great season. They capped it off with an impressive 16-0 win over Hamilton County. Port St Joe won their 2nd title since 2005. That last time the Sharks won was in South Florida at FIU. Davis is a prospect that should start to get some looks. What he needs to do is take care of business off the field.
