Sunday Morning QB – 10/18/2026
Another week of College Football and more madness. The number 1 ranked Georgia Bulldogs lost to unranked Auburn. The second ranked Notre Dame Irish lost on the road to BYU. The 5th ranked IU Hoosiers, 6th ranked Tide, the 7th ranked Longhorns all went down. College football has never been better. We are ready to give you our thoughts on what went down yesterday.
I have said it before and will say it again….College football fans need to adjust the way they view their teams now. It used to be lose and you were done. Lose twice and you were playing in Tampa or Orlando for a bowl game. Losses no longer have the same meaning as they used to. Texas and Bama both have two losses but their seasons are not OVER. They probably can’t lose another game but at some point a team with three losses will make the college playoff. It probably will happen this season.
This takes me to the UF, AU, Bama, Texas and USC fan bases. Before you go out and post on messages boards or go on social media and tell the world your coach needs to be fired can you let the season play out first? AU got their first win over a number one ranked team in over a decade. Maybe hiring Alex Golesh was not a bad idea. He took over a program that is a mess. It is also much harder to win there then at Bama no matter how many or your fans think Auburn is a better football program. UF fans really think that their head coach is not good. I read last week some of them saying he is as bad as their prior coach. Seriously. Don’t play the results. Watch Florida play football this year win or lose and tell me the team ever looked like that after Meyer left. Do some of you even know anything about football?
That leads me to Kalen Deboer. You should have stayed at Washington. You just took a team to the playoffs and made the championship game. Taking the job at Bama may have been one of the dumbest things you have done in your life. I like challenges but climbing Mount Everest naked in the middle of the winter is not a good idea. Following Nick Saban at Bama is career suicide. DeBoer will not make it at Alabama. Not because he is not a good head coach. He is actually one of the best in college football. What Saban created at Bama is not sustainable and you will be the fall guy in the next year or so. Bama will probably never play for or win a title under DeBoer and Bama fans and boosters will not stand for that.
IU – Curt Canetti – I have watched Indiana this year. Watched them the prior two years. This version of IU is nowhere near as good as season 1 or 2. He is probably the best if not the best coach in college football. His teams are always prepared for big games and IU even being in the game was impressive. Ohio State has a much more stacked roster. You would not know it if you watch the game. As for the Buckeyes. Good luck without Julian Sayin. For all the money spent on the roster having a back-up QB is a must. Ohio State is probably going to lose another game or two because the back up QB at Ohio State is not very good.
Jake Dickert – Wake Forest head coach. Someone is going to get a very good coach this off-season. Wake has a great shot at playing for the ACC. His team is going to win 9 plus games again this year. Wake is not an easy place to win and he is doing it at a high level. He won at Washington State and is now winning at Wake.
BYU – I have been on the Cougars train for a-while now. They are very well coached and man are they tough to beat at home. You can go back to the Ty Detmer days when BYU beat Miami in Provo. They were a double digit dog at home and pulled the upset. BYU is now ranked in the top five. They are a very good football team.
Names you need to know…Braden Atkinson and Jesse Legree. We have been on Oregon State since early in the season. Atkinson is competed close to 70 percent of his passes. He has 24 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. He is going too sought after this off-season. This is a program that needs to do everything in their power to keep their two stars. Oregon State is a true sleeper for the playoffs. They have two losses but to Texas Tech and Houston.
Miami vs. FSU – Probably one of the best rivalries in sports. Once again a true football classic. The Hurricanes won in overtime. This game had great plays. It had controversial calls to end the game. It had two teams that left everything they had on the field. The atmosphere in the stadium was quite impressive. All around a great experience on game day.
Alabama vs. Georgia – Yes they played last week….But both teams lost this week. How much of an impact of such a physical and mentally draining game did that impact them this week? This is where playing in the SEC each week impacts those teams. You never have a week off. Both played a great game a week ago and this week neither team looked the same.
Last week Gator fans and Auburn fans thought they hired the wrong coach. What a difference a week makes.
HOT SEAT – Coach Sark in Texas – Everything in Texas is BIGGER. Ask them. So are their expectations. Before the season started Texas had a Heisman Trophy hopeful and a team built to make a run at a title. Half way through the season Texas has lost back to back games and is close to be done in the title championship race. Sark did make the playoffs the past two years but when you tell everyone that your roster is the most expensive in college football and you lose to a UF team who was spanked the prior two weeks at home it does not look good. Texas is in trouble, is SARK?
Mike Locksley – Maryland – At this point do the man a favor and just end it. Maryland is cooked and so is coach Locks. His teams always underachieved at Maryland. This from a program backed by UA. I woke up this morning and thought for sure he was the first coach to be fired this season.
Heisman Trophy watch – Jeremiah Smith (Ohio State), Malachi Toney (Miami), Jesse Legree (Oregon State) a WR is pulling in the award this season.
