With the 2015 football season winding down, Elite Scouting Services will start to break down some of the best prospects in the state of Florida. Last weekend the Killian Cougars pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the season when they took down South Dade. After catching three passes which one went for a touchdown, Daquris Wiggins made a name for himself. The talented sophomore is one of the best young receivers in the state of Florida.

What we like about Wiggins: When you look at the prototype receiver Wiggins fits the bill. He is 6’3 and should weigh well over 200 pounds in college. He has the size and speed college coaches covet. Most big receivers have long strides. That is not the case with Wiggins. He looks very smooth after catching the football. He gives you a nice blend of size and speed. Give him two more years to develop and you maybe looking at an Elite Nationally Rated prospect.

What Wiggins needs to work on: Wiggins just needs to work on consistency. He needs to learn to dominate every week. With his physical talents there is no reason for him to not take over games. If he can play at a high level all the time, Wiggins could become unstoppable.

Final Thoughts: It is not often you see a receiver with Wiggins skill set. He has the size and speed that coaches will covet. He is only going to get better over the next two seasons. Give him some time and there is no question that Wiggins will be an elite player in two years. You can’t teach size and speed. Wiggins could end up one of the premier players in the 2018 class. He made 2-3 plays against South Dade last weekend that only a couple of senior receivers can make now. We will keep an eye on the talented sophomore and see if he continues to take his game to another level.
