The Longhorns snagged Miami Westminster Christian athlete <strong>Tim Irvin<\/strong> (5&#8217;9, 190) and Miami Booker T. Washington tight end\u00a0<strong>Devonaire Clarington<\/strong> (6\u20196, 225) during the 2015 US Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio.<\/p>\n<p>Irvin, the nephew of NFL Hall of Fame wide receiver Michael Irvin, could play a number of different positions in Austin. Clarington caught 13 touchdown passes as a junior and selected the Longhorns over Alabama, LSU, and Florida. Lakeland Victory Christian linebacker <strong>Cecil Cherry<\/strong> (6&#8217;0, 230) joined Clarington&#8217;s high school defensive back teammate <strong>Davante Davis<\/strong> (6&#8217;3, 200) as\u00a0recent commits to the Longhorns. Walker, who was named state player of the year according to local media outlets, recorded 108 tackles, 29 tackles-for-loss, and 23 sacks as a senior.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hurricanes Grab Valuable Receiving Weapon<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Calvert Hall College (Towson, MD) wide receiver <strong>Lawrence Cager<\/strong> (6&#8217;5, 205) has pulled a bit of a surprise by committing to the University of Miami. Thought to be a heavy Alabama lean, Cager also considered Georgia and Virginia Tech. As a junior, Cager caught 50 passes for 580 yards and seven touchdowns.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ross, Tell Pick USC<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Riverside (CA) Poly athlete <strong>Ykili Ross<\/strong>\u00a0(6&#8217;2, 185) and Encino (CA) Crespi safety <strong>Marvell Tell<\/strong> (6&#8217;2, 175) have decided to stay close to home to attend Southern California. Ross caught 50 passes for 988 yards and 15 touchdowns as a senior while also recording seven interceptions when lining up on defense during his career. Ross selected the Trojans over Arizona State, Notre Dame, and Oregon. Tell recorded 54 tackles with five tackles-for-loss\u00a0as a senior and selected USC over Oregon and Texas A&amp;M.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Norman Selects Sun Devils<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Gardena (CA) Junipero Serra\u00a0athlete <strong>Stanley Norman<\/strong> (6&#8217;0, 190) has verbally committed to Arizona State. Norman, who missed the game due to injury, selected the Sun Devils over Alabama, Oklahoma, Washington State, and UCLA. Norman picked off seven passes as a sophomore to burst onto the scene\u00a0and added over 900 total yards and eight touchdowns as a junior before an injury derailed his senior season.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Phillips Staying Home to Play for Vols<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nashville (TN) Hillsboro defensive end <strong>Kyle Phillips<\/strong> (6\u20194, 250) has verbally committed to Tennessee, choosing the Vols over LSU and Ole Miss.\u00a0Phillips recorded 22.5 tackles for loss and 13 sacks as a senior.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Canadian DT Picks Sooners<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Canada Prep Football Academy (St. Catharines, ON) defensive tackle <strong>Neville Gallimore<\/strong> (6\u20193, 315) has verbally committed to the University of Oklahoma.\u00a0Gallimore, who was unable to participate in the All-American Game due to injury, also considered Florida State and Ohio State.
