He is listed as the 202nd rated prospect in the state of Florida. On Saturday afternoon, against one the number one rated team in the country according to many experts, Kai Moore led his team to a major upset. In doing so Moore went 23 of 29 for over 300 yards and four passing touchdowns. He also accounted for over 40 yards on the ground. The same experts heading into the 2026 season have Moore rated 117th overall as a quarterback prospect. After watching Moore in person there is no question that if Moore is rated as the 117th best QB prospect then who are the other 116 who are actually better then him. Moore showed the nation that he is pretty darn good himself.

When it comes to quarterback evaluations most are judged in shorts. We like to evaluate quarterbacks on the football field, with pads on. Yes, most of the quarterbacks today who are rated high by recruiting experts judge the quarterback position many times on how many offers a kid has. Many quarterbacks are evaluated on which quarterback can throw farther. Moore is not the biggest, he is not the fastest and he does not throw the ball down the field 100 yards. What he does is the things that matter, like throwing receivers open. He does a great job of putting the ball where only his receivers can catch it. He is very accurate and his anticipation is very good. Most of all he does not fold under pressure. On Saturday afternoon he took plenty of clean shots and still delivered the ball to his receivers. Most importantly, Moore is a winner. Columbus has a kid who on and off the field delivers the goods. You hear about all the elite guys all the time but at the end of the day it is players like Moore will cheer for the most.

Final Thoughts: Columbus is coming off a losing season in 2025. This year they added some key pieces to their football program and look like a legit contender for a potential spot in the final 8. If they don’t make the final 8 we feel that Columbus will be the odds on favorite at this time to win a state title in their division. They have one of the best players in the Country, Amir Sears. He had 2 touchdowns and 3 interceptions to help seal the deal for the Explorers. We will keep an eye on Moore this season as he could be the best quarterback in South Florida.

According to the Recruiting Services, Kai Moore is rated the 117th rated Quarterback in the country.
