Prospects that are “UNDER THE RADAR”

The state of Florida produces anywhere from 350-400 prospects each year that go D1. This does not count players who sign with junior colleges and later on end up at the D1 level. Florida per capita is one of if not the best states in the nation for producing football talent. The sunshine state this year once again has some players who have slid under the radar. We will break down some of Florida’s most under recruited players this year.

DB Javan AllisonMiami Norland – 6’1-180: Allison will be part of a Miami Norland team that is going to try and compete for a state title. Last year they lost to eventual state champion American Heritage Plantation. Norland will have one of the best secondaries in the coutry. A big reason why is because of players like University of Miami commitment Kenton Dopson and Javan. Allison is a big, physical corner who can line up and shut you down at the line of scrimmage. He is also physical enough to come up and play the run. We feel that once the season gets started that Allison will draw the attention of some major programs.

WR Derrick McBride -Lake Gibson – 6’3-190: McBride plays in Polk County. You can argue that outside of Dade, Broward and Palm Beach there is not an area of the state of Florida that produces better talent. The history of this county can’t be overlooked. After an impressive performance at the University of Wisconsin football camp it looked like Derrick would get his first P4 offer. He has all the tools to be a very good receiver. Not many receivers in Florida give you the combination of size and speed that Derrick has. He is someone that we feel once the season gets started will not be overlooked much longer.

QB Chance Routson – Palm Beach Central- 6’3-200: Routson has a nice arm. He can push the ball down the field. He is someone that will get rid of the ball quickly. He also is a very good athlete. He ran a 4.55 at the mega camp in Atlanta this spring. He has a commitable offer from the Naval Academy. We feel that if Chance has the season expected his offer sheet will grow. He is one of the top 5-6 quarterbacks in the state of Florida in the 2026 class

RB Jeremy Pittman John Carroll – 5’9-180: Pittman ran for over 1,000 yards last season. He is going to be the focal point of the John Carroll offense this upcoming season. It would not shock us if he is one of the top backs in Central Florida in 2026. He runs with a low center of gravity and Pittman does not go down on first contact.

DE Tyler Lind – Stanahan – 6’5-190: Lind gets it done on and off the field. He is looking to become a engineer after his playing days are over. Lind stands tall. He is around 6’5 and has a frame to add the weight to play at the next level. He is going to end up getting offers from some of the top academic programs in college football. Lind is the true definiton of a student-athlete.

DE Blaze Jones The First Academy-6’2-240: Jones committed to the Air Force Academy. If you watched him at the USF camp, Jones performed very well. He is undersized but don’t let that fool you. He has a high football IQ. Jones is someone that is going to outwork the guy standing opposite him. We came away very impressed with his work ethic this off-season.

TE Dontallis Render – Vero Beach High School: 6’4-215: Render plays tight end but it would not surprise us to see him play on the defensive line in college. He is big and his frame should be able to add the necessary weight to play at the next level. He is someone to keep an eye on. Vero Beach has some serious talent this year but Render is getting overlooked.

LB Raheem Turner -Seminole High School: 6’0-210: There may not be a more passionate football player in Florida. Turner plays the game at a very high level. He plays like an old-school backer. He runs down-hill and will knock you out. He is athletic enough to drop into coverage. Turner is a prospect who committed to Arkansas State. It would not shock us to see more programs go after him now that he committed.

LB Demitris Mincey – Dillard HS-6’1-200: Mincey performed very well this spring. Mincey is someone that we feel will move up the rankings after his senior season. Look for Mincey to draw more interest this fall. He committed to FIU. The Panthers found a football gem in Mincey.

DE Mike Harris -South Dade-6’6-220: Coach Pat Burroughs is back in charge at a South Florida program. He had success at Southwest HS. He than went to Southridge and brought their program back to life. With players like Harris it won’t be long for the Bucs to return to the team to beat in Homestead, Florida. Harris has the physical tools to become an elite player at the next level. Now he just needs to put it all together.

Ath Latravious Woods-Vero Beach: 5’11-175: Vero Beach high school is loaded with top flight football players. It is guys like Woods who has been overlooked. He can play receiver or potentially defensive back in college. Look for Woods to make his mark this upcoming season.

S Eli Cochran-Bishop Verot: 6’3-180: Eli is a prospect we saw in his spring game. He has size. He also has the length to play in the secondary. Eli has good football instincts. He always seems to flow to the football. He is someone that can play safety but some teams may even try and play him at boundary corner.

S Jordan Jackson – Winter Park: 6’1-170: Jackson has flown under the radar. He has size and length. Those are two traits you look for in defensive backs. NC State is selective in recruiting the sunshine state and the found another hidden gem. In pass coverage he has the speed and quickness to make plays. He can also come up and play the run.

OT Alejandro Schmitt-West Broward: 6’6-300: Alejandro is a very impressive looking football prospect. He has great size. He moves pretty well. We feel that his best days are still ahead of him. Here is a kid that if developed at the next level can be an All-Conference type selection. He has gotten much better over the past year and we expect that to contiue well into the upcoming season.

QB Jayden Chico-Dillard HS: Last year he led Plantation to the playoffs. This year Chico is looking to lead Dillard deep into the playoffs. He is going to get his chance to shine as Dillard always has football players up and down the roster.
