Kadeem Thomas one of Tallahassee rising stars!

Kadeem Thomas one of Tallahassee rising stars!

One thing is for certain no one can say Class 2A does not have big time football. Cocoa is coming off back to back Championships. Look for them to once again be one of the top teams in Class 2A. This year 2A is wide open and it would not surprise us to see Glades Central, American Heritage Plantation, Robinson, Godby or Madison County give Cocoa a run for their money. Each of these teams returns most of their star players from last season and it would not shock us to see them beat Cocoa somewhere along the way. ESS will break down each team and give you insight into one of the best classifications in Florida.

Tony Pasada-2011

Tony Pasada-2011

Posada and Phillip Ely of Tampa Plant decided to get their college choices out of the way yesterday. Posada is moving up to Michigan next year and will play for the maize and blue. Ely surprised everyone by picking the SEC school least likely to land his Commitment University of Alabama. Most figured it would come down to Ole Miss or LSU. They were not the only Tampa are prospect to give their pledge this past week. Tampa Jefferson wide receiver Chris Moore also decided to end his recruitment and commit to Big East Champion University of Cincinnati. UCF continues to be a big time player in recruiting by landing one of the best Orlando prospects this year in Deion Green of Edgewater. Carl Williams of First Coast, Shane Coleman (Clay), and Keith Baxter also ended their recruitments. ESS will break down this group of prospects and what to expect out of these players at the next level.  Read the rest of this entry »

Andre Davis leads a loaded Jefferson team into 2010!

Heading into 2010 the most competitive classification in Florida will be 3A. There are as many as 10 teams that have a legit shot at a state title. Pensacola is trying to repeat as state champions. Last year they beat Belen Jesuit in finals that no one could have forecasted. Coach Stuart at Belen returns a very solid squad in 2010. Look for Belen to once again be a thorn in the side of many of the top teams in South Florida. ESS will break down class 3A and give you the favorites and possible dark horses to make it to Orlando.

O'Leary looking to lead team to back to back championships!

It took some time for Coach Jack Daniels to get over the hump but now that he has looked for Dwyer to be a perennial power in Palm Beach County. Dwyer returns plenty of starters from last year. The headliners are Jacoby Brissett (QB) and Nick O’Leary. With O’Leary, Dwyer has potentially the best player in the state of Florida for the 2nd year in a row. Brissett will be getting him the ball plenty this year. Those are not the only players Dwyer has heading into the 2010 season. ESS will breakdown the rest of the bracket and who has the best shot at knocking Dwyer off.

Looking to help lead team to three-peat!

Looking to help lead team to three-peat!

Last year when Glades Central played against Cocoa it was two of the top programs in high school football facing off against each other. One player that stood out in this great match up was Chevelle Buie. It is not often you see a player make a team like Glades Central not seem all that fast. When you consider that year in and year out Glades Central is one of the fastest teams in the country that is saying something. Buie was one of the main reasons why Cocoa seems to have the faster team last fall. ESS will take a look at Buie and what he looks to do in 2010.

Undray Clark off to University of Maryland!

Undray Clark off to University of Maryland!

When Head Coach Matt Dixon took over Varela, he had to convince many players who had not won before to change that way of thinking. Two years later his team has and it has started to show on the recruiting trail as well as the scoreboard. Varela not known as a hotbed for high school recruiting has now had back to back seasons with a player signing with a BCS school. Last year wide receiver Brain Maura signed with University of Kansas. This year Undray Clark will take his services to University of Maryland. The Terrapins have made an effort to recruit Florida since Don Brown former Head Coach of UMASS took over in the sun-shine state. It has paid off as they landed two players last season and already another one for the class of 2011. ESS will breakdown the talented defensive back from Varela and tells you what we think of Clark.
