Waisome takes top spot!

Waisome takes top spot!

Last season the state of Florida was loaded with cornerbacks. You had Lamarcus Joyner, Jaylen Watkins, Cody Riggs and Terrance Mitchell to name a few. This year there are some quality cornerbacks but the depth is not what a year ago is. After the top few prospects there is a drop off at this position. Nick Waisome leads this year’s class as the #1 cornerback in Florida.

Is Dix the top rated safety?

Is Dix the top rated safety?

Last year Matt Elam was the consensus top safety in the state of Florida. This year that  pick is even easier with Hasean Clinton Dix. We have covered football for a long time an Dix is one of those special talents that does not come around very often. The first time we watched his film as a sophomore at Edgewater, Dix stood out. Along with Dix are some other top flight safeties that should not be overlooked. Wayne Lyons, Karlos Williams, Marcus Roberson, Cortez Davis, Jabari Gorman, Jeremy Cash, Robenson Therezie Gerrod Holliman and Calvin Pryor round out the top ten. Once again this is a deep year in Florida for safeties. Look for as many as 30-40 to sign D1 scholarships.

Wilder who is the #1 LB in Florida?

Last year the state of Florida had some big time prospects at the linebacker position. Once again the 2011 class is shaping up to be very good. It will be led by two-way standout James Wilder of Plant HS. Right on the heels of Wilder is Tony Steward of Menendez High. Right below the top two prospects is Ryan Shazier and Denzel Perryman. These four prospects are not the only ones that will be heavily recruited. Here is our breakdown of the linebacker position. (more…)

Offensive lineman go through drills!

For the 2nd year in a row RTCYS held their annual camp at Mullins Park in Coral Springs, Florida. Camp director Julie Corona put on the event the past 2 years to give back to the many kids who need help getting noticed by colleges around the country. This year the event had prospects from Dillard High, Ely, Carol City, Miami Pace, and Flanagan and all the way from Orlando. Miami Dolphins receiver Davone Bess sponsored the 2-day event. Along with Bess, others that helped out were former Dolphin Jeff Dellenbach and current Washington Redskin Chris Taylor. Elite Scouting was at the event and will discuss who stood out.

One of top defensive ends in the country Aaron Lynch!

In part one of the defensive line story we covered defensive tackles. Today ESS will go over the defensive end position in Florida. Usually you will have a handful of quality defensive ends. This year there are more then just a few defensive ends which can make an impact in college. Aaron Lynch of Island Coast is one of the top players in the nation.  Along with Lynch we will discuss prospects like Ricardo Williams, Curt Maggitt, Giorgio Newberry, Clary Burton, DJ Pettway, Bryant Dubose and Anthony Chickillo who all have big time offers. Each of these prospects has something different to offer a college coach. Below is a breakdown of each prospect.

So far there have been 59 prospects from the sunshine state that have decided to make their decision on where they are playing their college ball. While there is a ton of time between now and NSD it looks like once again the state of Florida will have recruits sign with schools from across the country. ESS will update you on the prospects at they make their decision on where to attend college.

Watson came up big in spring game vs. Miami Pace!

When it comes to winning football games it all starts up front. ESS broke down the top offensive lineman in Florida. Next up is the defensive line. This year is a very good year for defensive lineman. There are some guys who are nationally rated such as Tim Jernigan, Aaron Lynch, Giorgio Newberry and Curt Maggitt. All of these guys have multiple offers. They will not be the only ones receiving interest in the coming months. If there is one area of the football team you can’t neglect it is defensive line. ESS gives its breakdown of some of the top prospects in the country. Part 1 of defensive lineman we will go over the tackle position.

#1 OL Prospect Tyler Moore!

#1 OL Prospect Tyler Moore!

When recruiting the state of Florida most colleges look for running backs, receivers, defensive backs and linebackers. One area that always seems to get overlooked is offensive line. This year will be no different but the talent level along the line is pretty good. You have Tyler Moore (Committed to Nebraska) that is a big time talent. Then you have a player like Bobby Hart that has the potential to be very good in a couple of years. There are many other high quality D1 prospects that will end up having very good college careers. When all is said and done there will be more then 30 prospects who sign D1 scholarships.

Fulse coming off great spring!

Fulse coming off great spring!

One position that usually does not have a ton of talent in Florida is tight end. This year is the exception to that rule. With Nick O’Leary, AC Leonard and Brandon Fulse the position has three head-liners that pretty much every school in the southeast will recruit. Leonard has already committed to the University of Florida. O’Leary and Fulse recruitment will go well into the season. Look for these three to have big senior seasons. Not to be forgotten is tight end Jeff Heuerman from Barron Collier. He committed early to Ohio State and that is one of the main reasons why his name is barely mentioned. ESS will break down the position and give you insight into what to look for in 2010.

Story one of top receivers in Florida!

For the class of 2010 you have prospects like Christian Green, Chris Dunkley, Ivan McCartney, Kadrone Boone, James Louis, Michael Lee Harris and many others that were highly rated. In 2011 the wide receiver class has some quality players at the top but the overall depth is not the same as a year ago.
