Keith Baxter-One of top defensive backs for 2011!
One program that has put out plenty of talent over the years is down in South Florida; Homestead High. The Broncos continue to put out prospects that are D1 quality on a yearly basis. The 2010 class was headlined by Demetrius Pettway and Darrin Kitchens. The 2011 class will be headlined by Keith Baxter and Ricardo Williams. Both prospects will see college coaches flock down to Homestead this spring. We expect both players to end up with BCS offers. ESS breaks down both players and what each prospect can look forward to.

Keith Baxter-One of top defensive backs for 2011!
Keith Baxter-The talented prospect from Homestead may end up one of Florida’s fastest as well. He has speed to burn and can make an offense pay for a mistake. He has the ability to break on the football quickly and if the ball is thrown poorly, Baxter will take it back for a touchdown. He also has the ability to chase backs and receivers down from behind. He is very effective in space where his speed and quickness is evident. Baxter will also make his presence felt on special teams in college. He is a prospect that from a talent standpoint will draw major interest this spring. (Highlight Video)

Ricardo Williams-2011
Ricardo Williams-The talented defensive end from Homestead is in the long lines of prospects that have played that position that ended up in the D1 ranks. A couple of seasons ago it was Marcus Robinson. This past season it was Derrin Kitchens. Now Williams gets the chance to be next in line. He is a solid pass rusher off the edge. Where he is most effective is stopping the run. It is so tough to get a hand on him in space that Williams is disruptive behind the line of scrimmage. He is a bit undersized but once in a college weight program, Williams should be very good. He will most likely end up at linebacker in college. The question then becomes can Williams make the transition and still be productive? (Highlight Video)
Darrin Kitchens-Even though Kitchens is a senior we will take a look at him. He has played running back, defensive end, linebacker and safety in high school. Kitchens biggest issue is that he has never settled into a position. Once at the next level, Kitchens needs to find a position that suits him best. We feel that his best position is out-side linebacker. One thing Kitchens brings to the table is speed and quickness. He is a very good athlete who has not even come close to his potential. Character wise you won’t find a better prospect in Dade County. (Highlight Video)
