Chikillo is a University of Miami Legacy!

Chikillo is a University of Miami Legacy!

We featured Anthony Rabassa from Columbus High School. Like with Rabassa, Chikillo is another defensive end prospect that plays with a non-stop motor. The Alonso star is one of the top prospects at any position in Hillsborough County next season. ESS will break down his strengths, what he needs to work on and what his future holds.

What ESS likes about Chikillo- We like that he is a bigger type defensive end. Chikillo will be in the 6′3-250-255 pound range while in college. He is not going to get bowled over against bigger and quicker offensive lineman. He also has pretty good strength so that should help him out. He has a pretty good first step and can get by slower tackles. We feel his biggest impact will be at strong side defensive end in college. His ability to stop the run is also quite impressive. He is effective at both rushing the passer and stopping the run. Chikillo also does a good job of getting off blocks and making plays.

What he needs to work on: Chikillo needs to continue to get bigger and stronger. Right now he is at the right size to play high school football. Once in college he needs to put on the needed weight to handle playing against better athletes. He also needs work on becoming a little faster. He has pretty good speed and quickness for a defensive end but we would like to see him continue improve in this area. He also needs to dominate more often. He has a tendency to play real well in spots.

Final Thoughts: Chikillo is a solid BCS prospect. He already holds an offer from University of Miami. He had relatives that went to University of Miami so they most likely hold a slight lead. He is going to continue to draw interest through spring football. Look for his stock to continue to rise if he puts on a good performance this spring. (Highlight)
