2011 Wide Receiver Anthony Clark!
2011 Wide Receiver Anthony Clark!

With signing day less then a week away ESS is already looking at the class of 2011. We will feature some of the top prospects from across the state of Florida. One prospect that we will feature today is Anthony Clark of Miami Palmetto. We had the opportunity to watch Clark perform this year against Homestead High School. We have also watched about 4-5 game films of Miami Palmetto from this past season. Clark stood out in many of those games as one of the top players on the field. We take an in-depth look at the talented junior.

What we like about Clark: When you watch him on film the first thing that stands out is how he goes up and attacks the football. Clark catches the football at its highest point. You rarely if ever see him let the ball come to him. He does not body catch the football as well. When you watch Clark run routes, he does a good job of getting a clean release off the football. He also knows how to sell each route so the defensive back does not get tipped off. Clark can get open and once he does the result is usually positive for the offense. He is one of the best down field blockers as a receiver in the state of Florida.

What Clark needs to work on: He needs to get a little faster. While he has pretty good speed, Clark is not the type of receiver that will be asked to stretch the field. He can run the deep routes and make some big plays. Thing is there are guys that can score from anywhere on the field because of their speed and quickness. That is not the case with Clark.

Final Thoughts: For Clark to get more exposure he needs to come out and have an impressive spring. If he can have success through spring ball college coaches will take notice and offers should come his way. Clark is very aggressive on the football field and will compete on every play. He will do whatever a coach asks of him. Look for Clark to become one of the leading receivers in Dade County next season.

    Yep

I’ve seen this kid play and he runs sub 4.5 laser time so I’m not sure what the knock was about speed. This one is going to the next level and beyond for sure.
