Ryan Brynson under the radar no more!
In September ESS was in the Jacksonville area and all the talk of local coaches was about Menedez High School. Each School we went into another coach told us to go and check out linebacker Tony Steward. We decided the trip to Menedez was worth it. While at Menedez we had the opportunity to meet with Steward. The talented linebacker definitely passed the look test. After watching his film it was obvious why local coaches were so high on the talented linebacker. Not only was Steward a prospect we checked out his teammate Ryan Bryson was another player who caught our eye. ESS breaks down both players and gives you an inside look at each prospect.
Menedez is not a program that is talked about much when discussing teams in St. Johns County. Usually football fans will discuss programs like Nease which sent Tim Tebow to Florida and St Augustine who had Brandon James who starred at UF. Bartram Trail came into the mix with quarterback Kyle Parker who started for Clemson this past season. A new school in the mix is Menedez High. Their top prospect for the class of 2011 is Tony Steward. The talented linebacker has nice size (6′2/225) and very good speed (4.5). What you like about Steward is he initiates contact with the ball carrier. He also does a good job of going back into coverage. He is a complete player who should get some looks next spring. Ryan Brynson is Menedez other D1 prospect for the class of 2011. While Brynson has not made the impact that Steward has so far in his high school career it is his upside that college coaches will like. He plays both defensive end and tackle in high school. We expect for him to play on the outside in college. Look for his stock to go up during spring football when college coaches have the chance to go over to their school. (Video Link)
