Lake Nona QB Kevin Sousa makes name for himself!
When ESS covers the state of Florida we like to find some of the hidden gems that not too many fans or scouts talk about. When ESS recently went to Orlando they stopped by Lake Nona High. This is a new school that recently started their football program. While most new football programs struggle to get exposure that will not be the case with Lake Nona. They have a potentially elite quarterback prospect in Kevin Sousa. The talented quarterback has only played a couple of years of organized football. When college coaches take a look at the talented star they will be heading over to Lake Nona more often. Sousa will draw attention to some of his other teammates. ESS breaks down the talented signal caller and gives you insight to what Sousa brings to the table.

When George O’Leary signed on to become UCF Head Football Coach he put together a staff that could go out and land top rated prospects from Florida. Led by Wide Receiver Coach Dave Kelly, he has accomplished that goal. UCF added Geoff Collins from University of Alabama to bolster their staff this off-season.
Coach Kelly first goal this off-season was to land Jeff Godfrey from Miami Central. He is the top rated quarterback in Florida this year. Godfrey gives the Golden Knights their first elite quarterback prospect since Daunte Cullpepper donned a UCF uniform.

Ronald Patrick on his way to South Carolina!
The state of Florida every year has over 300 players sign D1 scholarships every year. The class of 2010 could go as high as 400 prospects signing D1 letter of intents on National Signing Day. When you look at ESS Post Season top 100 prospects like Corey Lemonier, Christian Green, Christian Jones, Chris Dunkley, Ivan McCartney, Kenny Shaw, Terrence Mitchell, Brandon Gainer, Willis Wright, James White, Michael Lee Harris, Javon Bell, Theodore Jackson, Tony Grimes, Alton Bailey, Tevin Drake, Vinny Mauro, Rashard Knight, Darrin Kitchens, Jeremy Deering, Kody Williams, Djwany Mera, Brian Robinson, Ace Sanders and Hans Louis who have yet to commit to a school so far. We expect this to be one of the largest classes to ever sign D1 from the state of Florida this year.

Is Driskel one of top qb's in Florida for 2011?
ESS likes to bring the fans the top prospects from across the state of Florida. Today we will look at one of the lesser known prospects for the class of 2011 Jeff Driskel. With so many talented quarterbacks next year, Teddy Bridgewater (Miami Northwestern), Jarrard Randall (Chaminade), Jake Ruddock (Saint Thomas Aquinas), Rakheem Coto (Miami Central), Immoni Carswell (Plantation), Jacoby Brissett (Dwyer) and Kevin Sousa (Lake Nona) one name that has not been mentioned much is Jeff Driskel of Hagerty High.

MVP Ryan Williams throws 5 Touchdowns in Win over Deland!
One of the most popular things we did last year after each weekend of the state football playoffs was to come up with a look at the top teams and players from that weekend.
This past weekend at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, 3A, 4A, 5A and 6A champions were crowned. Here is a look at the way the teams stacked up as well as the top players in the four games.
Over the past two seasons Saint Thomas Aquinas has been one of the top teams in Florida. This past weekend Saint Thomas had that all come crashing down on them as they lost to Manatee High. This was pretty much a shock to everyone that covers high school football in Florida. While they lost most expect them to bounce back next year and be one of the elite teams once again in Broward County. ESS takes an inside look at their top prospects from the class of 2010 and 2011.

James Wilder head-lines a talented group of prospects this weekend!
For the third time in four years Tampa Plant High School will be playing for a state title. Their past two teams were led by their quarterbacks Robert Marve (Purdue) and Aaron Murray (Georgia). Those two teams could really throw the football all over the field. This year Plant is led by super talented junior James Wilder. He is one of the elite prospects in the class of 2011. Not only is Wilder super talented so are some of the players around him. Look no further then Plant offense which is led by quarterback Phillip Ely. He filled in last season when Murray was hurt. It was Ely play in the playoffs last year that made a name for him. Prospects like Allen Sampson and CJ Glover are also primetime players. Look for both to make their presence felt this weekend. On defense everything goes through linebacker Mike Mirabella. Last year he had a performance for the ages in the state title game.

John Theus helps lead a dominating performance from Bolles offensive line!

ESS continues to bring you hi-lights of some of the top players in Florida. For the class of 2011 there will be many prospects that pop up on the radar screen and draw the attention of college scouts and recruiters. Two prospects that have caught our eye is Gulliver Prep Athlete Tacoi Sumler and Athlete Cedric Walker. Both prospects can play on either side of the football in college.
