Spring Tour Stop: Dillard High School

Bryce Oliver -Class of 2018

Bryce Oliver -Class of 2018

One of our stops in our Spring Tour was to Dillard Sr. High. The Panthers are one team that you can always count on having talented prospects on both sides of the football. Led by Head Coach Lorenzo Davis, the Panthers held one of the best practices we have watched this spring. On Tuesday Night Coach Davis held a practice at Carter Park where over 20 college coaches attended. His team seems to be really focused as all eyes were on his talented Panthers. Led by Jonathan Ford on the defensive line it was the defense that seemed to dominate the action. The Panthers could have one of the top 2-3 defensive lines not only in South Florida but the entire state. Mr. Ford is not the only talented defensive lineman the Panthers have. After sending two defensive linemen the D1 route, Coach Davis has four more this year that seem to be heading that way as well. ESS will break down the talented Panthers and give your insight into what to expect this season.

On offense the Panthers are going to be led by sophomore sensation Bryce Oliver. The class of 2018 has a potential star on the horizon in Oliver. He is a tick over 6’1 and weighs close to 185 pounds. He has dominated this spring and been one of the go to players on offense this spring for Coach Davis. He is going to make sure that Oliver gets his shot to shine as Bryce can go the distance any time he touches the football.

Not to be outdone there guys like George Golden-RB/Slot, Tajue Williams-RB, Timothy Scippio-WR, Abdul Leiba-WR, Jacob Sutton-RB AND Malik Carter-RB. With this group of talented players there should be some fireworks this upcoming season for the Panthers. One thing is for certain, the offense may not face a better defense all season than the one they will face in practice every day.

If games are one and lost in the trenches then the Panthers will be in good shape for 2016.  Jonathan Ford leads a defensive front that is going to be special this season. Along with Ford the Panthers can roll out Stephon Zayas, Jordan Wright, Braylen Ingraham and Frendy Darelus. All five prospects will end up with D1 offers this spring. Behind that special defensive line players like Brenden Oliver, Derek Williams, Moses Prince, Michael Mackey, Jacari Clayton, Reginald Grant and, Kervensky Norvilus will all benefit by the guys up front.

Final Thoughts: When it comes to running a great practice not many were better then what we saw this past Tuesday at Carter Park. Coach Davis did a great job of not only running the practice but making those who attended the event feel welcomed. After leaving the practice you walked away thinking this could be one of the better teams that Dillard has had over the past couple of years. If they are going to make a run this year, look for the defensive line to lead the way. That is going to one special group to watch this upcoming season. Dillard will hold their final practices later next week before moving onto their spring game against Miramar.
